Manchester United’s start to the season has left a lot to be desired, as the club sit at sixth in the Premier League table, are already out of the League Cup and find themselves in a strong yet tricky position in their Champions League group. Thus, it is no surprise that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club has been questioned despite him signing a contract extension just this summer.

Solskjaer has been the manager of Manchester United for almost three years now and the club have made some decent progress during his run. They bounced around the Premier League table for years after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement but the Norwegian has brought some stability back, as they have finished third and second in his two full seasons.

But the start to this campaign has been underwhelming to say the least. And the recent one-sided defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Manchester City, have further increased the pressure on Solskjaer’s shoulders.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have privately decided a change of manager will be required, but are mulling over the arrival time of his replacement. It is possible that Solskjaer might remain till the end of the season.

Manchester United have made Solskjaer sack decision

It looks like Manchester United are ready to eventually make a change in the managerial hot seat after the disappointing start to the season, despite signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the summer.

In fact, many expected Manchester United to challenge for the Premier League title this season but at the moment, they seem quite some distance from doing that.

Of course, Solskjaer remains in charge for the time being and it remains to be seen how the club perform following the international break. At the moment, they are 5 points off of a top four spot.
