Usain Bolt’s love of Manchester United is no secret. The multiple time Olympic Gold Medallist and track and field legend, is a huge fan of the Red Devils. Thus, it is expected that he would be disappointed with how this season has turned out till now. At the moment, the club find themselves sitting at sixth in the Premier League table and are already out of the League Cup.

As a result, questions have been asked about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club naturally. And while Manchester United have stuck with him till now, it is safe to say that they might have no other choice but to make a change if things don’t improve quickly.

As a result, several names like Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, Ralf Rangnick and others are being linked with the Old Trafford job.

Bolt has revealed though who he wanted to be the Manchester United manager. As reported by The National, he said:

"“I wanted [Antonio] Conte.“He is going to do so well at Spurs. He is going to get them organised.”"

Bolt wanted Conte to be the Manchester United manager

Not too long ago, Conte was without a club, having left Inter Milan at the end of last season after guiding them to a Serie A title.

As a result, there were rumours linking the former Chelsea manager to the Manchester United job as well. But ultimately, it did not happen and he ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur instead.

Thus, there is very little chance of him becoming the Manchester United manager anytime in the near future if at all.

Conte’s brilliant record does suggest that he could have been a brilliant manager for Manchester United. He has won almost everywhere that he has been in recent times. Over his last seven seasons, he has won five league titles, with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

But, a move to Old Trafford was not on the cards and instead ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur instead. On the other hand, Solskjaer remains in the managerial hot seat at the Theatre of Dreams till now.
