Zinedine Zidane is one of the managers who has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job for quite some time now and it is easy to see why. The Frenchman was one of the greatest players in the history of the game and then showed his quality as a manager as well over two stints with Real Madrid.
He guided the Spanish giants to a historic three straight Champions League titles during his first stint with the club. And while his second stint might not have brought as much success, it was a solid effort considering the circumstances.
Zidane would leave Real Madrid at the end of last season though and is without a club right now. Thus, if Manchester United decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at some point in the future, it is understandable why they could consider the Frenchman as a potential candidate to replace the Norwegian.
But it looks like they have been handed a blow in that regard. As reported by The Sun, an agent has been sounding out potential successors to Solskjaer and Zidane has indicated that he would not be interested in the Old Trafford job.
It looks like Zidane is not interested in the Manchester United job
The situation surrounding Zidane has been confusing to say the least. While some rumours have suggested that he is not interested in the Manchester United managerial hot seat, others have indicated that he is keeping an eye on it.
Thus, it remains to be seen what the future holds regarding the French legend, who has also been linked with the France national team job as well as Paris Saint-Germain.
When it comes to Manchester United, the focus must now be on bringing the season back on track, as it looks like Solskjaer will remain the club’s manager for the time being despite the disappointing start to the campaign.
