Newcastle United linked with Manchester United star

Despite having one of the best squads in the Premier League right now, Manchester United sit at sixth, having gathered 17 points from the first 11 league matches of the season. It is safe to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have had issues all over the pitch, but their biggest worry has once again been their defence.

In the 2021/22 Premier League season so far, the Manchester United defence has been breached 17 times. Thus, the Red Devils have conceded more goals than any other team in the top ten right now.

As a result, heading into the January transfer window, Solskjaer faces a number of problems to solve and his own future is up in the air as well. Amidst all this, one player who has been a bright spot for Manchester United this season is David de Gea, who appears to be back to his best at the moment. But his form might possibly lead to the departure of another star.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Dean Henderson wants to leave Manchester United if he cannot reclaim his No 1 spot from De Gea this season. He would consider leaving as early as January, with Newcastle United being a possible destination, although it is unlikely that the Red Devils will let him leave in the middle of the season.

Despite conceding a lot of goals, De Gea has been one of the standout players for Manchester United this season and on current form, he is undroppable. Without some of his performances, the club might have found themselves in a worse spot right now.

After a few disappointing seasons with the gloves, it had looked his time at Old Trafford was coming to an end when he lost the No 1 spot to Henderson in the second half of last season.

But now, the Spaniard has established himself in the team again and it remains to be seen what the future holds for Henderson.
