It is very possible that Manchester United might need to make a change in their managerial hot seat soon. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future is up in the air at this point of time with the club struggling for both form and results. They sit at sixth in the Premier League and are already out of the League Cup. The only silver lining right now appears to be their strong position in their Champions League group.
Manchester United have stuck with Solskjaer till now but if things don’t improve soon, they might have very little choice but to change things up.
As a result, quite a few managers have been linked with the Old Trafford job in recent times. Many believe Brendan Rodgers to be the favourite though, in case Manchester United did indeed decide to part ways with Solskjaer soon. In that regard, the Red Devils have been handed a major blow.
As reported by Eurosport, Manchester United have been made aware that Rodgers has very little interest in taking over right now and has a desire to see through this season with Leicester City.
Manchester United have suffered Rodgers blow
It is easy to see why the Red Devils have been linked with Rodgers. The Leicester City manager has done a terrific job ever since joining the Foxes back in early 2019.
In both his full seasons with the club, Leicester City challenged for a top four spot, although they did fall short on both occasions. He has also guided them to an FA Cup and a Community Shield, establishing himself as one of the top managers in England as a result.
Rodgers is not the only manager who has been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks though. The names of Zinedine Zidane, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, Ralf Rangnick and a few others have been floated around as potential candidates as well.
