With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United future in doubt, Brendan Rodgers is a manager who the Red Devils have been linked with heavily in recent weeks and it is not hard to see why. He has established himself as one of the most exciting managers in world football in recent years and would be considered as a major coup for any club at this point of time.
Since arriving at Leicester City, Rodgers has guided the Foxes to an FA Cup and a Community Shield win. Also, they competed for a top four spot in both his full seasons with the club, although falling short on both occasions.
Before that, he enjoyed a tremendous spell at Celtic as well, turning the Glasgow giants into a Treble winning machine. And he had almost guided Liverpool to the Premier League title at one point of time as well.
It is safe to say that Rodgers’ record is very impressive. And now, there appears to be a major update on a potential move to Manchester United in the future.
Major Rodgers to Manchester United update
As reported by the Daily Star, Manchester United are growing confident of their chances of being able to make Rodgers the next manager of the club, should they have no other choice but to part ways with Solskjaer. The Leicester City manager is believed to have a release clause in his contract.
That is for the future though and for now, Solskjaer remains the Manchester United manager. And the best case scenario for the club would involve the Norwegian turning this season around.
Also, it is possible that the club could wait until the summer to make a change and one has to wonder whether Rodgers would be open to leaving Leicester City in the middle of the season.
He has left a club in the middle of a campaign in the past though, when he joined Leicester City from Celtic.
