Manchester United’s start to the season has not been what most fans would have expected when the club signed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton over the summer. The club were expected to compete in the Premier League title race this season but do not appear to be anywhere near at the moment. And naturally, questions have been asked regarding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have decided to stick with Solskjaer till now. But they sit at sixth in the Premier League table and are already out of the League Cup. And they have lost a number of important games recently, included 5-0 against Liverpool and 2-0 against Manchester City.

Thus, one can only wonder how long the Red Devils will continue to back the Norwegian manager if things don’t change soon.

As reported by The Sun, Solskjaer’s reign at Manchester United is hanging by a thread and the question now is when not if he will be sacked by the club.

Manchester United appear to make Solskjaer U-turn

While it had looked like Manchester United were continuing to back Solskjaer, it is very possible that they might slowly losing hope regarding a turnaround in form as well.

The club have been linked with several managers in recent weeks including Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers, Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and others. But for the time being, Solskjaer remains the man in the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford.

It is not hard to see why the club might be reluctant to make a change. At the end of the day, Solskjaer is a club legend and has been in the role for almost three years now. And also, it would be very difficult to find good replacements for him in the middle of the season.
