The Manchester United managerial situation has been a topic of discussion among football fans for a while now. The club have made a very disappointing start to their season despite bringing in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton over the summer. Naturally, questions have been raised about the manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and his future at Old Trafford.

Till now though, Manchester United have stuck with Solskjaer and he remains the man in the managerial hot seat. And it is not difficult to understand why they might be reluctant to make such a huge change this early in the season.

Not only is Solskjaer a club legend, but he has also been their manager for nearly three years now. And it would be difficult to find a manager in the middle of the campaign, whose strengths would suit the squad that the Norwegian has assembled at Manchester United.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, there are still no contacts between Manchester United and other managers. Solskjaer is still supported by the main part of board members.

Solskjaer looks set to remain the Manchester United manager for the time being

There have been a lot of rumours about Solskjaer getting potentially sacked as well as several managers being linked with the Manchester United job. But for the time being, it looks like the Norwegian will remain in his role.

He will be aware though that he needs to turn this season around as soon as possible. If things don’t improve in the near future, the club might have no other choice left but to make a change.

Names of several managers like Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and others have been floated as potential candidates to replace Solskjaer at Old Trafford. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds.
