Manchester United find themselves in a sticky position at this point of time. The club have failed to meet expectations at the start of this season and currently sit at sixth in the Premier League table. And while questions have been raised about the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the club, the Red Devils have decided to stick with the manager till now.

It is understandable why Manchester United might be reluctant to show Solskjaer the exit door. Yet, if results don’t improve soon, they might have very little choice but to make a change in the managerial hot seat.

But then, even if they did, who would come in as his replacement? Not a lot of top managers are available in the middle of the season. Amidst all this though, one very interesting name that has been floated around is that of Ralf Rangnick. But there is one problem regarding a potential move for him as well.

As reported by the Independent, the German would be interested in being the interim manager at Manchester United but would also want some kind of football position afterwards.

Manchester United have been handed a Rangnick problem

It is safe to say that Rangnick could very well do a good job as an interim manager at Manchester United. The legendary German manager is believed to have influenced the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann,  just to name a few.

And while his own managerial career has not been as glittering as some of those that he has influenced over the years, he has definitely made his mark at most places that he has been.

Having to give him a football position afterwards could be a worry for Manchester United though. Firstly, because of what position they would give him and secondly, because of the influence that it could end up having on potential managerial appointments in the future.
