Manchester United have not had a good start to the season. Coming into the campaign, they were believed to be one of the contenders for the Premier League title but that has not turned out to be the case till now. In fact, if things don’t improve quickly, they might end up struggling to even finish in the top four.

There is no questioning though that the Red Devils have one of the best squads in world football right now. And as a result, there are several talented players who have had to spend the majority of their time sitting on the bench this season.

Jesse Lingard is one such player. He enjoyed a tremendous half-a-season loan at West Ham United last season and has impressed for the England national team recently as well. But those have not translated into starts at Manchester United. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 8 appearances and played just 154 minutes of football this season.

And as reported by Eurosport, Lingard is back on West Ham United’s transfer radar for January and he is opening up to the prospect of leaving Manchester United as well. It is expected that any new offers are now going to be seriously considered by Lingard’s representatives.

Lingard is opening up to the prospect of leaving Manchester United

During his loan spell at West ham United, Lingard was one of the best players in the Premier League. He was absolutely superb and there were high expectations of him when returning to Old Trafford this summer.

There were links regarding a permanent move to West Ham United in the summer as well but ultimately, Lingard remained at Manchester United.

Things have not quite gone as expected though. And with his current deal with the club coming to an end when this season is over, an exit is looking like very much a possibility.
