Erik ten Hag is one of the managers who has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent weeks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club very much in doubt. At the moment, the Red Devils find themselves sitting at sixth in the Premier League table and while the club have shown great patience with the Norwegian manager over the years, they might have very little choice but to make a change if things don’t improve soon.

It is not hard to see why Manchester United might be interested in bringing in someone like Ten Hag. The job that he has done at Ajax over the last few years is nothing short of extraordinary.

Ten Hag rose to prominence a couple of years back when he guided Ajax to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and they were moments away from booking their place in the final before a late goal from Tottenham Hotspur knocked them out.

The next few years were a struggle in Europe as several of their top stars left following that tremendous campaign. But this season, they are making their mark in the Champions League again, having won all four of their group stage games till now and in dominant fashion.

Manchester United handed Ten Hag blow

Ten Hag is once again being considered as one of the top managers in Europe and after what he has achieved with Ajax, it is hard to argue with that. As a result, he would be considered as a major coup for Manchester United if they could appoint him. But the Red Devils have been handed a massive blow in that regard.

As reported by the Independent, several sources have said that Ten Hag would not leave Ajax in the middle of the season.

In fact, it is a bit surprising that he has remained at Ajax till now, having been linked with several top European clubs over the past few years.
