Most people expect Donny van de Beek to leave Manchester United soon. He has not had a great time since arriving at Old Trafford. And this season, he has struggled for time on the pitch and has found himself on the bench for the majority of the time. In fact, his late substitute appearance against Atalanta were his first minutes on the pitch since September.

He did end up making a contribution against Atalanta though, and while he might not have been on the pitch for long, it was a positive appearance for the Dutch midfielder. And he will be hoping for more of those moving forward.

When Van de Beek has featured this season, he has looked promising and put in solid performances. But unfortunately, that has been few and far between. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made only 4 appearances this season, playing 144 minutes of football in the process.

But it does not look like the Dutch midfielder is one to give up. He tweeted out after the game:

Does Van de Beek still have a future at Manchester United?

The ‘never give up’ message rings true for both the team and Van de Beek himself. But does he have a future at Manchester United?

It does feel like he is on his way out of the club in the near future and even changed agents recently. As a result, unless there is a significant change in his playing time over the coming weeks, one would expect the Dutchman to depart Old Trafford soon.

But never say never in football. Even a positive cameo, like the one against Atalanta, could potentially lead to bigger things.

As long as he is at Manchester United, the aim must be to work hard and do his best. And if he was to leave in the future, there is not expected to be any lack of suitors for his signature.
