Manchester United’s start to the season has been disappointing to say the least. It has failed to match the expectations that had built up after the club enjoyed a tremendous summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to Old Trafford.

Out of those three, Ronaldo has been an undeniable hit. He has started his second stint at Manchester United like he had never left, scoring important goals and winning games once again.

Things have been much more mixed for Varane. He has looked good when he has played but has already suffered a couple of injuries. On the other hand, Sancho has struggled to find his feet in English football and is yet to either score or assist for Manchester United.

Manchester United are already being linked with some big players for next summer though and there are a few moves which they should definitely try to pull off.

Manchester United have been linked with the West Ham United midfielder for a while now. And one has to admit that he has been fantastic.

Declan Rice has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, has played a huge part in West Ham United’s terrific form over the past couple of seasons and has also established himself in the England national team at just 22 years of age.

Defensive midfield is an area that Manchester United need to improve their squad in and someone like Rice could be the perfect signing. The race for his signature will be tough though, with both Chelsea and Manchester City also believed to be keeping a keen eye on the West Ham United superstar.
