Manchester United must have come into the game against Atalanta with a lot of confidence. They had already beaten the Italian side in the reverse fixture and were coming off of a 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
Once again though, Manchester United’s performance left a lot to be desired. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side showed the determination and never give up attitude that they have become famous for and found a way to salvage a point from the jaws of defeat.
As a result, they have put themselves in a good position in their UEFA Champions League group and should be happy with the result.
But they have a few worries coming out of the game as well and will next face Manchester City in the Premier League in what could turn out to be a huge game for Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford as well as the Red Devils’ title hopes.
Manchester United 2-2 Atalanta: 3 things we learned
Here are three things we learned as Manchester United came back from behind against Atalanta once again, this time to get a 2-2 draw:
Cristiano Ronaldo saves the day again but questions remain

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a consistent source of goals for over a decade-and-a-half now and it looks like there is no stopping the Portuguese legend.
He has returned to Old Trafford this season and has looked like he had never left, scoring important goals and winning games for Manchester United once again.
He found his name on the scoresheet once again against Atalanta, after having scored the winner in the reverse fixture. He found the back of the net twice this time around to salvage a draw for Manchester United.
The results since his arrival have been a worry though as questions have been raised about how he has fit into this team. He is undroppable right now but as a team, the Red Devils have appeared to take a step back this season.
