Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job in recent times with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future in doubt after a disappointing start to the campaign. The Norwegian has been given some time to get the season back on track though and enjoyed a brilliant 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
But, Manchester United might have missed out on the chance to bring in Conte though. And incidentally, it might be Tottenham Hotspur who end up appointing him.
Tottenham Hotspur have not enjoyed a great start to the season either and they have decided to make a change. As reported by The Guardian, Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked after just 17 matches as their manager.
On the other hand, it looks like Tottenham Hotspur are confident of convincing Conte to become their new manager. Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:

He’s asking an important plan for next transfers window and long-term contract. Paratici is on it.

Manchester United have been handed a huge Conte blow by Tottenham Hotspur
One of the best managers in world football right now, it is not difficult to understand why Manchester United had been linked with Conte. Over his last seven seasons as manager, he has won five league titles, with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
Impressively, none of those sides were even close to being favourites when he became their manager but the Italian guided them to success within a very short span of time.
There had been rumours though that Manchester United had some doubts regarding Conte and how he would fit in at Old Trafford. And for the time being, it appears that they will carry on with Solskjaer in the Red Devils’ managerial hot seat.
Although nothing is set in stone yet, now it looks like Conte could be headed to Tottenham Hotspur. Ironically, it could happen after they suffered a defeat at the hands of Manchester United.
