Manchester United put in an incredible performance against Tottenham Hotspur to come out with a 3-0 win, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford finding the back of the net. There was a lot to be positive about from the game and the result. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it must have been a massive relief.

Solskjaer’s future has appeared to be up in the air following the club’s disappointing start to the season and the 5-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. And a bad result against Tottenham Hotspur could have very possibly led to him being shown the Old Trafford exit door.

The win must have lifted a lot of pressure off of his shoulders. But it is safe to say that there is still a long way to go as Manchester United need to go on great run from here on if they are to return to the title race.

A few bad results and the pressure will be back on Solskjaer once again. And one man who has been linked with the club as a possible replacement is Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers.

Massive Rodgers to Manchester United claim

The big question is, would Rodgers leave Leicester City to join Manchester United in the middle of the season? Stan Collymore feels he would. He wrote in his column in the Mirror:

"“I just couldn’t see him even thinking about not taking it and what is more I think every Leicester fan would totally get it as well.”"

Interestingly, Rodgers has already managed Liverpool in the past and almost guided them to a Premier League title before falling short over the last few weeks of the season.

He has done a tremendous job since arriving at Leicester City, guiding them to an FA Cup and a Community Shield and it is not hard to see why Manchester United might want to bring him in as manager if they did decide to part ways with Solskjaer in the future.
