There are a lot of problems at Manchester United right now. Coming into the season, they were expected to challenge for the Premier League title along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. But instead, they find themselves sitting at seventh, already eight points off the top of the table after just the first nine games of the campaign.

That is not how Manchester United fans would have envisioned this season going, especially after signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton over the summer.

Questions have been raised about the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford but for the time being, he remains the manager of the club.

But the Norwegian will know that he needs to bring in some big changes as soon as possible if he is to turn the season around. And it is safe to say that he is facing some big problems.

When Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in the summer, there were a lot of questions about whether he could still get it done in English football. It is safe to say that the Portuguese legend has already shown that he remains a brilliant goalscorer and matchwinner.

The team though, has appeared to take a step back since his arrival. And that is something that Solskjaer will need to take a look at as soon as possible.

It just does not look like Manchester United have found the way to get the best out of Ronaldo while also taking a step forward as a team at the same time till now. And that is one of the biggest reasons why they have struggled in recent weeks despite having one of the best goalscorers in football in their line up.
