FC Barcelona and Manchester United both find themselves in difficult situations right now. Both of them have endured very disappointing starts to their campaigns. The only difference is, for the Spanish giants, it was almost expected after both Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann departed in the summer. For the Red Devils though, the situation was completely the opposite.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton arrived in the summer without any major departures. The side had already finished second in the Premier League last season and were expected to be in the title race with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City this time around.

At the moment, Manchester United find themselves sitting at seventh though and have lost five of their last nine games across all competitions. Thus, a number of questions have been raised about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whose future remains up in the air.

Amidst all this, FC Barcelona have sacked Ronald Koeman. And this could be a massive worry for Manchester United.

Barcelona decision hands Manchester United a massive worry

If results don’t improve soon then Manchester United might have very little choice but to show Solskjaer the exit door. In that case, they will be looking for a new manager then.

On the other hand, Barcelona are already looking for a new manager at the moment. And with very few top managers available at the moment, it is very possible that both clubs might have pretty much the same managerial targets.

Of course, it remains to be seen how things unfold at Manchester United. Solskjaer is still the man in the managerial hot seat and has been given time to turn things around.

The club have been linked with names like Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag, in case they do have to make a change in the future though.
