It is safe to say that quite a few managers have been linked with Manchester United over the past few days as doubts continue to grow over the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the club. Following the 5-0 defeat against Liverpool, many felt that the Norwegian might be sacked but it looks like he will remain the club’s manager for the time being and will be given the chance to turn things around.
Solskjaer is a popular figure at Old Trafford but if results don’t improve soon, Manchester United might have no other choice but to replace him.
Several top managers like Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers and others have been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford recently. And now, it looks like another man might be in the running for the Manchester United managerial hot seat as well.
As reported by the Daily Star, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has got growing influential support from within the Manchester United hierarchy.
Pochettino being linked with Manchester United once again
Pochettino has been heavily linked with Manchester United in the past, especially when he was without a club. But since then, he has gone on to become the manager of one of the biggest clubs in Europe in the form of Paris Saint-Germain.
Some questions have been raised about Pochettino as well though. It is safe to say that till now he has failed to get the best out of the combination of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
When the Argentine legend arrived at the club this summer, the French giants were expected to completely dominate oppositions. And while they are in a decent position, the performances have not been nearly as good as were expected.
Thus, if things don’t improve at Paris Saint-Germain soon, we have already seen last season that they are not afraid to make a change, even if it involves one of the most highly-rated managers in Europe.
