Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United over the summer was welcomed with open arms by most fans and rightfully so. The Portuguese superstar had already established himself as a legend at the Theatre of Dreams during his first stint at the club before going on to become one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Now he was back and was expected to put Manchester United right in the Premier League race. Some even considered the Red Devils the favourites to win the title following Ronaldo’s arrival.

Things have not gone as smoothly though and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have struggled this season. They currently sit at seventh in the Premier League table and the manager’s future appears to be up in the air.

Ronaldo’s individual start to the campaign has not been bad and he has scored some very important goals already – back-to-back winners in the Champions League – but overall, the club appear to have taken a step back.

Ronaldo is reportedly becoming irritated with Manchester United teammate

It just does not feel like this team has gelled since the arrival of the summer signings. Mason Greenwood is one player who appears to be struggling to combine with Ronaldo up front.

And as reported by ESPN, teammates have noticed that the pair rarely pass to each other in attacking positions and that Ronaldo is becoming visibly irritated by Greenwood’s decision to take a shot rather than pass in goalscoring situations.

Despite recently turning 20 years of age, Greenwood has established himself in the Manchester United first-team already and he also has scored some very important goals this season. But it is important for him to build up a partnership with Ronaldo going forward.

Although Manchester United have some of the best talents in all of Europe up front, they have struggled in front of goal in recent times. And if they are to challenge for titles this season, they cannot afford to let that happen.
