Even though Manchester United signed some huge names like Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo in their last summer transfer window, they continue to be linked with big signings for the future. And it is not hard to see why.

Their start to the season has left a lot to be desired. The win against Atalanta is a huge boost for the Red Devils. But it is important to build on it.

At the moment, they sit at sixth in the Premier League table. And they could have easily lost all three of their UEFA Champions League games if not for individual brilliance from some players. Thus, it is clear that this team needs to improve further.

It appears that RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo is someone that the club have in their sights. As tweeted out by Christian Falk, if Barcelona can’t shell out the transfer fee for him then Manchester United and Manchester City are interested as well, with the Red Devils’ scouts having watched him at many matches.

Manchester United have joined the transfer race for Dani Olmo

Barcelona are keen on signing Olmo from RB Leipzig. But it is no secret that the Spanish giants are going through financial difficulties at the moment. On the other hand, both Manchester United and Manchester City appear to have their eyes set on the 23-year-old Spaniard as well, who impressed immensely at EURO 2020.

Olmo’s current deal with the Bundesliga club is believed to run until the summer of 2024 and have a release clause of around €80 million.

It is not hard to see why shelling out such a transfer fee could be difficult for Barcelona at this point of time. On the other hand, Manchester United have been linked with Olmo several times over the last few seasons. But with the options that the Red Devils have going forward, it will be very interesting if they decide to make a move for the RB Leipzig star.
