It is pretty clear that Manchester United have struggled when it comes to both results and performances recently. They started the season very well and were even top of the Premier League at one point but a disappointing run of results mean that they have slipped down to sixth spot in just the span of a few weeks.

And it is safe to say that there are a lot of worries surrounding Manchester United at the moment. Over their past 7 games in all competitions, they have lost 4 times, won twice and drawn once. That is not a good run of results at all, especially if they want to challenge for the title.

One of the biggest problems that this team appears to have at the moment is their balance. Cristiano Ronaldo is still a sensational goalscorer but it does appear that as a team, the Red Devils have taken a step back since his arrival.

They have had problems keeping clean sheets. In fact, they have only kept one through the course of the season, in a game against Wolves when they could have conceded quite a few if the opposition had taken their chances in front of goal.

Manchester United need to get their balance right moving forward

It is not just because of the defence that Manchester United are conceding more frequently right now. In fact, when you look at the backline, they have strengthened there following the arrival of Raphael Varane. The incredible form of David de Gea also deserves mention.

But with the likes of Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood, Paul Pogba and others playing together, there are quite a few players in the regular starting XI who are not known for the defensive side of their games.

That is an area that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might need to make a change in. With the club struggling for results at the moment, he might need to go for a bit more steel rather than flair for the time being. If that means dropping some big names, then that has to be done.
