Manchester United are coming off of a very successful summer transfer window when they managed to strengthen their squad significantly. Now though, their focus must be on extending the contracts of some of the players who are already at the club before thinking about making more additions in the future.

The most urgent contract situation at the club right now appears to be that of Paul Pogba. The French midfield maestro remains a huge part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team picture. But his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022, meaning he is in the final twelve months of his contract with the club.

It is believed that Manchester United are looking to extend Pogba’s deal, which is understandable. But it appears that the French World Cup winner is keeping his options open at the moment and has not committed his future.

As reported by ABC (via Daily Mail), Real Madrid are ready to make him an offer of just under £12 million a year along with a transfer bonus of just over £25 million in an attempt to convince him to join the Spanish giants at the end of the season.

Real Madrid want to sign Pogba when his Manchester United contract runs out

At 28 years of age, Pogba is entering his prime as a footballer and he has been one of Manchester United’s best players this season till now. In fact, he has already provided more assists this season than a number of his previous campaigns with the Red Devils.

As a result, there is not expected to be any lack of interest in Pogba’s signature if he does end up leaving Manchester United at the end of the current campaign.

It still remains to be seen what the future holds for Pogba. There have been some rumours that he could be open to staying at Manchester United but one has to feel like it could all come down to how this season turns out for Solskjaer’s side.
