There are very few positive things surrounding Manchester United at the moment. They have lost four of their last seven games across all competitions, are out of the League Cup, third in their Champions League group after the first two games and have now slipped down to fifth in the Premier League table, and could slide further depending on how results go elsewhere.
Thus, it goes without saying that the club’s form this season has been a worry. And if they are to challenge for titles this season, they will need to turn things around as soon as possible.
It is hard to get a positive out of a 4-2 defeat against Leicester City. But there was one from today’s game. And that was definitely the return of Marcus Rashford.
Rashford underwent shoulder surgery following EURO 2020 that has kept him out of action since then. He made his return to the pitch against Leicester City, coming on as a substitute in the 65th minute of the game and scored the equaliser for Manchester United in the 82nd minute. Of course, Brendan Rodgers’ side would score two unanswered goals after that.
Manchester United have been handed massive boost by Rashford’s return
It goes without saying that Manchester United found it tough to get going in recent times. And despite their incredible talent up top, they have struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
Rashford came in and immediately showed his brilliant eye for goal. And with Sancho struggling for form since arriving at Old Trafford, his presence could be huge for Solskjaer’s side.
Rashford has been a regular for Manchester United for years now and would be expected to return to his place moving forward. One can only hope that he can find some consistent form and help this side turn their season around from here on.
