Sheffield United will face competition for Manchester United player
The summer transfer window of 2020 was an odd one for Manchester United, with the Red Devils confirming four signings on deadline day. One of them was Amad.
Although a move had been agreed in the summer, Amad had to wait until January to join his new club due to work permit issues. He did come in and immediately make an impression though.
Apart from scoring in a crucial Europa League game against AC Milan for Manchester United, he impressed immensely for the under 23s side as well. But considering the incredible depth at Old Trafford right now, regular playing time is expected to be hard to come by. As a result, a loan move looks like the most likely next step in Amad’s development.
Sheffield United are one of the clubs who were heavily linked with a move for Amad back in the summer. But as reported by The Star, they will face competition from across Europe if they attempt to resurrect their interest during the January transfer window.
Amad could leave Manchester United on loan soon
Manchester United brought in Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer to strengthen their forward department further.
While Daniel James did depart the club since then, the Red Devils still have the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Amad, Ronaldo and Sancho in their ranks.
Amad has been unavailable due to an injury for a while now and was expected to complete a loan exit in the summer itself. It would not be a surprise to see him leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis, till the end of the season, in the near future though.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up if that loan move does end up happening with clubs from around Europe believed to be interested in Amad’s signature.
