Manchester United’s start to the season has not matched the expectations that the fans had coming into the campaign after a tremendous summer transfer window. As a result, it would not come as a surprise if they end up strengthening their squad further in the upcoming transfer windows with midfield an area that they need to make additions in. And it looks like they have their eyes on a Chelsea transfer target.

Despite winning the Champions League last season, Chelsea did not make too many signings this summer. Of course, the signing of Romelu Lukaku for a club record transfer fee was the big one. Other than that, Saul Niguez arrived on a season-long loan while Marcus Bettinelli was brought in on a free transfer.

On the other hand, Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton. And now, it looks like they have their eyes set on Aurelien Tchouameni as well.

According to Fabrizio Romano on The Here We Go Podcast and as reported by football.london, Chelsea and Juventus are Tchouameni’s main suitors but scouts from Manchester United have also looked at the midfielder.

Manchester United are interested in Chelsea transfer target Tchouameni

Tchouameni is one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in world football today. He has been brilliant for AS Monaco and has impressed with the France national team recently as well.

Thus, it is not hard to see why some of the biggest clubs in Europe are interested in signing the midfielder and the race for his signature is expected to be very tough.

Manchester United are a club who do need to improve in the middle of the park and have been linked with the likes of Declan Rice, Ruben Neves, Kalvin Phillips and many others in the recent past. And it looks like Tchouameni is another player in their sights.
