Manchester United have one of the forward lines in all of football right now. At the moment, the club have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard and many highly-rated youngsters in their ranks. But they are being linked with a potential move for the Napoli superstar as well.

Despite the presence of all this talent going forward, Manchester United have found it hard to score goals in recent games. Thus, could they end up adding to their squad in the future?

Lorenzo Insigne appears to be someone who could turn out to be a possible option for the Red Devils. The Napoli captain’s current deal runs out next summer and there appears to be some doubt about whether he will be extending his contract or not.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), Insigne could be interested in an experience abroad, especially in the Premier League and Manchester United are being mentioned as possible suitors.

Lorenzo is being linked with a move to Manchester United

Insigne has been one of the best players in the Serie A for years now and he played a huge part in Italy’s EURO 2020 win in the summer.

He enjoyed a spectacular 2020/21 campaign with Napoli as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions for the Italian giants last season.

While he is still a brilliant player, at 30 years of age, this could most probably be his last chance for a big move away. It remains to be seen what happens regarding that next summer.

His current deal with Napoli is set to run out at the end of the current campaign. Other than Manchester United, the likes of Inter Milan and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Italian international in the recent past as well.
