Manchester United have one of the best and most celebrated youth academies in Europe. Over the years, they have always been able to bring through players who have gone on to become some of the biggest names in football.

Over the years, the Red Devils have put in an enormous amount of effort into strengthening their academy. And Anthony Elanga is one of the most highly-rated players in Manchester United’s youth ranks right now.

In 2014, Elanga joined Manchester United’s youth academy from Malmo FF. Before that, he had been with IF Elfsborg.

Elanga made his debut for the club earlier this year and was very impressive during pre-season this time around. But with the incredible depth that the Red Devils’ squad has right now, it should not come as a surprise that he has not gotten regular playing time. As a result, a loan move in the future could be the right step for the youngster and he seems open to the prospect.

Elanga is open to a loan move away from Manchester United

While speaking with Kvällsposten and as reported by Tribal Football, Elanga didn’t rule out a loan move in the future:

"“Everything is possible but right now I am in United so I focus on them. But anything is possible and I have to be ready if the club wants to loan me or wants me to stay.”"

Elanga has developed significantly over the last few years. It was towards the end of last season, he made his competitive debut for Manchester United in a Premier League game against Leicester City. He then scored his first senior goal on the final day of the 2020/21 league season, against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It is safe to say that Elanga has the potential to be a first-team star at Old Trafford for years to come. For the time being though, he needs regular playing time in order to develop and improve. As a result, a loan move away is not a bad idea. It remains to be seen though what the future holds for the highly-rated youngster.
