Newcastle United are expected to shake up the English footballing landscape following their recent takeover. It could have a similar effect to what Manchester City experienced over a decade ago. And just like that time, it could end up having a big effect on Manchester United as well.

While most probably not this season, Newcastle United would eventually be expected to become one of the teams competing in the Premier League top four race. And that would just mean more competition for Manchester United, who themselves have not finished in the top four consistently ever since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Also, it looks like The Magpies might have their eyes set on a few Manchester United players to help take the club up the Premier League table. At the moment, they find themselves sitting at 19th.

According to the Mirror, the four Manchester United players reported being on Newcastle United’s wishlist are Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly.

Newcastle United might have their eyes on four Manchester United players

It is safe to say that none of those four players are regulars in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI right now and have all been linked with potential moves away from Old Trafford in recent times.

But they certainly do have important roles to play in the squad, and we have seen all of them feature this season till now.

As a result, if any of them were to leave in the near future, Manchester United will need to bring in cover, whether it is from their own academy or by signing new players.

On the other hand, when it comes to Newcastle United, they will be expected to make a splash in January. It is safe to say that the club’s start to the season has not been great and they could be looking to make sure that they stay up in the Premier League by strengthening the squad in the winter transfer window.
