Manchester United’s start to the season has been underwhelming to say the least and they have managed to win just two of their previous six games. As a result, this international break could be a very good opportunity for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team to step back, and evaluate things a bit.
Possessing one of the best squads in world football right now, expectations are high from Manchester United to deliver silverware this time around. They have not won a trophy in the past four seasons.
While their recent results have not been great, they still sit just two points behind league leaders, Chelsea, and can easily return to the top of the Premier League table if they are able to put together a good run of results.
The upcoming game against Leicester City will be very vital though. And it looks like they will be without two players, Fred and Edinson Cavani, on that occasion.
Fred and Cavani look set to miss Manchester United’s game against Leicester City
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Fred and Cavani are unlikely to feature in Manchester United’s next Premier League outing as the upcoming game between Brazil and Uruguay will only leave them 36 hours to get back to England before the match, never mind playing it.
Of course, Manchester United have one of the deepest squads in the Premier League right now and Solskjaer should be able to navigate through the situation on the occasion.
While Cavani has not played a lot of football this season in the first place, there have been some calls from fans to try someone different in the double midfield pivot alongside Scott McTominay.
Thus, Solskjaer’s team selection in the game against Leicester City could turn out to be very interesting. But more than anything, Manchester United will be hoping for a positive result to get their season back on track.
