Manchester United have had their fair share of injuries in recent times. But the incredible depth of the squad has meant that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been able to navigate through the situation quite well till now, at least in terms of team selection. The results, of course, have left a lot to be desired.
Solskjaer will be hoping to have a full squad available as soon as possible. And one man who has not featured at all for the first-team this season is Marcus Rashford.
Rashford underwent a shoulder operation after participating at UEFA EURO 2020 for the England national team and has been out of action since then. He has returned to training for Manchester United though and is expected to be available for selection soon. And it appears that he has taken a massive step towards that goal today.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Rashford scored on his return from injury after starting in a behind closed friendly against Blackburn Rovers.
Manchester United could be handed a massive boost with Rashford’s return from injury
It is safe to say that Rashford has been an integral part of this Manchester United team for years now and it will be a massive boost for them when he does return to action.
It will make things very interesting though when it comes to the wings. Other than Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial can play there as well, while Paul Pogba has featured in a pretty similar role in recent times.
With Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani available at striker, it is safe to say that Manchester United have one of the best frontlines in all of football right now. Things have not quite clicked yet and fans will be hoping that Rashford is the missing piece of the puzzle.
