It is safe to say that Manchester United have not made the start that they would have wanted this season. They are already out of the League Cup, lost their opening Champions League game and have slid down the Premier League table over the last few weeks as well. And it goes without saying the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side needs to improve as quickly as possible if they are to avoid falling behind in the title race.

Following the dramatic win against Villarreal in the Champions League in midweek, Manchester United came into the game against Everton riding on a high. But it was just a 1-1 draw that they could manage on the day against the Toffees.

Anthony Martial’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Andros Townsend after the break and the points had to be split on the day.

This will further increase the pressure on this team and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who admitted to having a word with Jadon Sancho for ducking out of a tackle. As reported by Manchester United’s official website, the manager said:

"“I had a word with Jadon, you can’t duck out of tackles in the Premier League and I’m sure he won’t again.”"

Jadon Sancho has not enjoyed a great start to life at Manchester United

After being linked with Sancho for years, it was considered as a major coup when Manchester United finally managed to sign him from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

It is safe to say that till now, things have not gone as most would have expected. Sancho is yet to either score or assist since arriving at Old Trafford and has not been able to nail down his spot in the starting XI.

With Marcus Rashford closing in on a return following his shoulder surgery, one would hope that Sancho is able to rediscover his form, which saw him become one of the most effective wingers in world football during his time at Borussia Dortmund. Otherwise, he might have to spend significant time on the bench in the near future.
