After another defeat, the pressure will certainly be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his Manchester United team moving forward. Their league form has been good. But overall, the results have been mixed this season so far. In the first 8 games across all competitions in this campaign, the Red Devils have won 4, lost 3 and drawn 1.

The game against Aston Villa was not just an opportunity for the team to bounce back after their League Cup elimination at the hands of West Ham United in mid-week but to get ahead in the Premier League title race as well, with Chelsea tasting their first defeat of the season at the hands of Manchester City.

But it was not to be as Aston Villa managed to defeat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford. A late goal from Kortney Hause and then a penalty miss from Bruno Fernandes in stoppage time handed all three points to the visitors.

This is two defeats on the trot for Solskjaer’s side, who will face tough opposition in their next game as well, when they welcome Villarreal to Old Trafford in the Champions League.

It is safe to say that Manchester United are not in good form right now. Even some of the games that they have won, they have not been at their best and have had to ride their luck at times.

That is not sustainable throughout the course of the season though and we are already seeing that. But, it is expected that this side will take some time to gel together and are expected to get better over the coming months.
