Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have shared quite a relationship over the last few transfer windows. One of the biggest clubs in Germany, Signal Iduna Park is home to some of the most highly-rated talents in world football today. Thus, it should not come as a surprise that the Red Devils have tried to sign some of their players in recent years.

The long-running transfer saga between the two clubs for Jadon Sancho is well known. Ultimately though, Manchester United managed to bring the English international to Old Trafford this summer. And it looks like the club might have their eyes on another Borussia Dortmund youngster already.

While it does look like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side want to sign Erling Haaland in the future, Jude Bellingham is another player that they have been linked with recently. Liverpool are believed to be very interested in the English youngster as well.

But as tweeted out by Patrick Berger, Borussia Dortmund do not want to let him leave next summer:

Manchester United have been linked with Bellingham recently

Borussia Dortmund signed Bellingham from Birmingham City for a transfer fee believed to be around £25 million. He has been linked with Manchester United for a long time as well.

Coming up through the ranks, Bellingham was one of the most highly-rated talents in world football and was wanted by some of the biggest clubs in England. But he ultimately ended up joining Borussia Dortmund.

It has appeared to be the right decision till now as he enjoyed a breakout season in his very first campaign there, catching the eye of clubs around Europe with his performances both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League. He got regular chances in the Borussia Dortmund first-team there and probably more than what he would’ve received in any other top club in Europe.

It is just in June of this year that Bellingham turned 18 years of age, and it is safe to say that he has the potential to be one of the best players in world football in the future. Thus, if Manchester United are able to sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the club.
