Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to be two of the clubs competing for the Premier League trophy this season. After a long time, the two giants of English football appear to be genuine title contenders at the same time.

Jurgen Klopp has done brilliantly ever since taking the managerial job at Anfield and has guided them to success both domestically and in Europe. On the other hand, the Red Devils have shown a lot of progress under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but are yet to win a trophy till now.

It looks like it is not only on the pitch that the two sides will be competing in the near future though but off it as well. Recent rumours have suggested that both the clubs are interested in making a move for Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham.

As reported by the Daily Star, Liverpool want to sign Bellingham next summer in what could be a club record £80 million deal and are believed to be ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign him. Klopp has made him his No. 1 target.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with Bellingham

It is not hard to see why both the Premier League giants would want Bellingham. The English wonderkid just turned 18 years of age in June of this year. But he has already established himself as a regular in the Borussia Dortmund team and shown his quality in the Bundesliga as well as the Champions League.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Bellingham has made 51 appearances for Borussia Dortmund till now, scoring 5 goals and providing 8 assists in the process of doing so.

Thus, it is safe to say that the sky is the limit for the midfielder and a number of top clubs across Europe are expected to be interested in signing him if he does end up leaving Borussia Dortmund in the future.
