Manchester United linked with move for brilliant Leicester City star

Manchester United made some sensational signings in the summer transfer window and must be considered as one of the top contenders for the Premier League title this season. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton all arrived at the club over the course of the last few months.

Thus, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has one of the most complete squads in world football to pick his team from. One area that the club did not end up strengthening in though is central midfield.

That is one position that many felt that the Red Devils needed to make a signing in and might be a bit light on options in over the course of the campaign. But the club might have some exciting plans to strengthen in the middle of the park for the future.

While speaking on his YouTube channel and as reported by Leicester Mercury, Fabrizio Romano said about Youri Tielemans’ future:

"“Many top clubs were not able to approach Tielemans because the cost of the deal was really complicated.“But next summer, Youri Tielemans will be one to watch.“I am told that he is on many top clubs’ list. Real Madrid have his name in mind for the future, Barcelona the same.“In England many clubs are interested. Manchester United have to decide on Paul Pogba but Tielemans is one to watch for the future for Manchester United.”"

Manchester United appear to have Tielemans on their radar

It is not hard to see why so many top clubs would be interested in making a move for Tielemans. He has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League during his time with Leicester City and is a regular in the Belgian national team as well.

Tielemans was one of the most highly-rated players in Europe while coming through the youth ranks at Anderlecht. And the Belgian midfielder has been very smart about choosing the clubs that he plays for till now.

Tielemans joined AS Monaco in 2017 and then moved to Leicester City, first on loan and then on a permanent basis, in 2019. At both those clubs, he got the chance to play plenty of regular football and as a result, develop into one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe.

Now, at 24 years of age and his current deal with Leicester City believed to run out in the summer of 2023, next summer might possibly be when he takes another step in his career. Manchester United certainly appear to be one of the clubs interested in making a move.
