Most of the buzz surrounding Manchester United recently has been about the club’s signings this summer and that is understandable considering the quality of players that the club have brought in.

But quite a few have departed the club as well over the course of the summer, whether on loan or on a permanent basis.

The Red Devils did let quite a few players leave with their contracts running out earlier in the summer. One such player who was allowed to leave was Aliou Traore, who had joined the club back in 2017 and was very highly-rated while coming through the youth ranks.

Traore left the club earlier this summer to become a free agent. And as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, he is set to join Parma with it being a ‘done deal’:

Traore departed Manchester United in the summer

Traore joined the Red Devils in 2017 and the central midfielder was very impressive for the club’s u18 side and had a decent time for the u23 side as well. He never managed to break into the first-team picture though and spent the previous season on loan with Caen and played in Ligue 2 for them.

He was one of the several players that Manchester United ended up releasing following the 2020/21 campaign. He looks set to get back into football soon though by joining Serie B side Parma after spending some time as a free agent. It will be interesting to see how the 20-year-old does for them.

On the other hand, central midfield is an area where the Red Devils could do with a few more options in moving forward. The club were expected to make an addition there over the course of the summer but did not end up doing so. As a result, it appears to be the only area in the squad that they appear a bit light on options at.
