After being linked with him for years, Manchester United must have been delighted to finally be able to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford this summer.

The club had been heavily linked with a move for the English international last summer as well but a move failed to materialise as they could not agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund back then. This summer though, they were able to get a deal over the line and sign the 21-year-old.

After a couple of appearances off the bench, Sancho made his first start for the club in the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. While he has not managed to either score or assist for the Red Devils till now, that should change once he settles into his new surroundings.

He has been one of the most effective wingers in the world over the past few seasons. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund. But Manchester United do appear to have an injury worry on their hands.

Manchester United handed Sancho injury blow

As reported by the Independent, Sancho is a doubt for England’s World Cup qualifier against Hungary on Thursday evening as he has picked up a minor injury in training.

Hopefully, it is nothing serious and the winger is available for selection when the Red Devils return to action after the international break. They will next face Newcastle United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side do possess incredible depth in their squad at the moment, following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer. As a result, even if Sancho missed a couple of games, it would not be expected to be a major worry for the Red Devils.

While Daniel James has departed the club this summer, Mason Greenwood has already shown that he is very capable of playing on the wing if the situation calls for it.
