Manchester United scouts watched transfer target recently
Having signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton this summer, Manchester United have enjoyed an incredible transfer window and would not be expected to make any more signings.
But as we have seen already, they can spring a surprise at times. Thus, could another move still be on the cards?
And even if a transfer does not happen this summer itself, it looks like the club are keeping track of potential targets for the future.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City all had representatives at the recent Champions League qualifying play-off first-leg match between Benfica and PSV Eindhoven to watch Noni Madueke in action at Estadio da Luz. Talent spotters from Juventus, Bayern Munich, AS Roma and Atalanta were also present.

Manchester United have had their eyes on Noni Madueke for a while
Noni Madueke is one of the most promising players in the Eredivisie right now. He enjoyed his breakthrough season in 2020/21 and has started this campaign in brilliant form as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old has scored 6 goals and provided an assist in 10 appearances for PSV so far this season.
Left-footed, Madueke plays on the right wing and he prefers to cut inside and take on defenders. One aspect of his game that immediately catches the eye is his pace with the ball at his feet. He is also very good at creating opportunities for himself to take a shot on goal.
Right wing is an area of the pitch that the Red Devils have made quite a few signings in in recent times though. Jadon Sancho has arrived at the club this summer while Mason Greenwood is also capable of playing there. There have been talks of Amad leaving on loan this summer, while Facundo Pellistri already has. Daniel James also remains a part of Solskjaer’s plans. Thus, if they were to sign Madueke, one has to wonder where he would fit.
