Manchester United turned down West Ham United’s transfer enquiry
Manchester United have one of the most impressive squads in the Premier League. They finished second last season and have added Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton to their squad this summer till now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had also shown last season that they are a very difficult team to beat for any club. As a result, it is safe to say that they should be considered as one of the contenders for the Premier League title this time around.
The depth of their squad means though that there are a few very good players who are expected to struggle for first-team minutes. Jesse Lingard could very possibly be one of them.
Lingard spent the second half of last season away on loan at West Ham United, where he was absolutely brilliant. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists in 16 appearances for the club. It is safe to say that he was one of the best players in the Premier League during that period of time.

Manchester United turned down West Ham United’s transfer enquiry
Rumours have floated around all summer that West Ham United would like to have Lingard back. But it looks like the Red Devils are not planning to let him go.
As reported by ESPN, West Ham United made an enquiry about Lingard last week but it was turned down.
Now, it remains to be seen how many opportunities he will get to feature this season. He was brought on as a substitute in the club’s 1-1 away draw against Southampton in the Premier League this weekend.
On top of his game, Lingard proved last season that he is a fantastic player. But with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba ahead of him in the pecking order, it is hard to see him becoming a regular in the starting XI.
