Manchester United have made terrific additions to their squad this summer transfer window in the form of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton. And after finishing second in the Premier League last season, it is safe to say that they must be considered as title contenders this time around.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have shown a lot of improvement in multiple areas over the past couple of years. But they have not managed to win a trophy yet.

In fact, the club are without silverware for the past four seasons. And they will be looking to bring an end to that streak as soon as possible.

While the Red Devils might very well be in the running for the Premier League title this season, it looks like they already have big plans for next summer as well.

Manchester United have big plans for next summer

As reported by ESPN, Edinson Cavani is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of this season and Solskjaer is keen on bringing in an established striker to fill in the gap. As a result, Manchester United have a list of potential targets as they plot a move for a big-name forward next summer. Lautaro Martinez is one of the options on the table along with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

The links with Haaland and Kane are almost expected and have been floating around for a while. If Mbappe ends up becoming a free agent next summer then most of the top clubs in Europe would be expected to try and sign him as well.

It is the name of Martinez which is the most interesting among the four. The Argentine has emerged as an absolute superstar in recent years for both club and country. He was one of the major reasons behind Inter Milan winning the Serie A title last season and then he led the line for the Argentina national team as they won the Copa America this summer, their first major trophy in 28 years.
