Declan Rice decision amid Manchester United transfer links

Declan Rice has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in recent years. Still just 22 years of age, he is already a regular in the England national team and played a big role in the run to the UEFA EURO 2020 final. Thus, it is no surprise that he has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League including Manchester United.

He has been a regular feature in West Ham United’s first-team for about four seasons now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has already made 146 appearances for the club. His current deal with them is believed to run till the summer of 2024 with the option for a further year.

As a result, it is not expected that the Hammers would want to let their star player leave anytime soon. But that has not stopped him from being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

As reported by The Telegraph (via Mirror), Rice feels as though the £100 million valuation has priced him out of a move away and is now ready to run down his current deal. He will continue to give his all for the club until his contract runs out.

Rice has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea in recent times

The two clubs who Rice has been most heavily linked with in recent times are Manchester United and Chelsea.

He was a youth player at Chelsea at one point of time and thus, it is not hard to see why a move back would be an attractive option. On the other hand, the Red Devils are believed to be looking to strengthen in the middle of the park.

Rice has shown in recent times with both club and country that he is a spectacular midfielder and can be a solid addition to any club. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him. But for the time being, he is a West Ham United player and could be for a while still.
