Roy Keane will know a thing or two about winning titles. He won plenty of them during his time at Old Trafford in what was one of the most successful periods in the history of Manchester United.

At the moment though, the club have not won a trophy in four seasons and they will be looking to bring an end to that streak, as soon as possible.

There is a lot of hope though, that that could happen this season. The club finished second in the Premier League in the 2020/21 campaign while losing the Europa League final on penalties. Thus, it was a very positive season overall in terms of progress. And the Red Devils have strengthened the squad even further this time around, with Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton already at Old Trafford while Raphael Varane’s arrival is expected soon as well.

Roy Keane though, believes that the club could pull something out of the bag over the next few weeks. While speaking on The Overlap Live Fan Debate and as reported by Manchester Evening News, the club legend said:

"“I still have a feeling United will pull something out of the bag over the next few weeks.“I still think they need someone in the middle of the park.”"

Keane believes Manchester United need someone in the middle of the park

Keane believes that the club need to bring in someone in the middle of the park. And there have been some rumours over the summer which have suggested that the Red Devils could be looking to make an addition in midfield.

It is not hard to see why. Nemanja Matic is now 33 years of age, while Paul Pogba’s long-term future remains up in the air although there is a feeling that he could remain at Old Trafford, for this season at least. Scott McTominay and Fred formed a midfield partnership last season but there is a feeling that that is somewhere the the club can improve further.

There have been some rumours as well which have suggested that Solskjaer could go for a change in formation and system this season. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds.
