Youngsters have always been a big part of Manchester United’s success. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club has built a squad with the right blend of youth and experience. But there are some youngsters who need to play senior football regularly in order to continue their development.

Considering the incredible depth at Old Trafford at the moment, it is not easy to break into the first-team. Therefore, loan deals have become an important part of the path ultimately leading to the first-team.

A good loan spell is sometimes enough to get into the first-team picture in the upcoming season. Over the years, it has remained a great method to assess a youngster’s abilities. And Manchester United have sent out a number of their players on loan this summer already.

Following the loan departures of Tahith Chong and Will Fish, as reported by the club’s official website, Facundo Pellistri will rejoin Spanish side Deportivo Alaves on a season-long loan. He had spent the second half of the previous campaign with the La Liga side.

Pellistri departs Manchester United on season-long loan

This will be Pellistri’s second stint on loan at the Spanish club. Having signed for the Red Devils from Penarol last summer, he turned out for the club’s under-23s last season but did not make an appearance for the senior team. After making a great impression there, he was sent out on loan to gain experience of senior football in Europe.

According to Transfermarkt, Pellistri played 539 minutes of football for Deportivo Alaves last season. But it is clear that he made enough of an impression to get a second stint with the same side, who finished 16th in La Liga last season.

Pellistri was a part of Solskjaer’s pre-season plans, playing in the first three games. The 19-year-old even found the back of the net against Wayne Rooney’s Derby County side.

Hopefully, he will continue his development at Deportivo Alaves and return to Old Trafford as a player ready to make an impact in the first-team picture.
