Manchester United face Real Madrid in transfer race for world-class star
Manchester United have had a brilliant summer transfer window till now but they are not expected to stop yet.
There are a number of positions in the squad that the club might be looking to strengthen in moving forward. Central midfield is one such area.
The future of Paul Pogba appears to be up in the air at the moment. The French World Cup winner is yet to agree a contract extension and he has only a year left on his current deal with the club. Thus, it is very possible that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the near future. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic is now 33 years of age.
As a result, the Red Devils have been linked with several midfielders in recent months, with one of them being Leon Goretzka. Rumours have suggested that the club are interested in signing the Bayern Munich star next summer if he becomes a free agent then. His current deal with the Bundesliga giants runs till the summer of 2022.

Both Manchester United and Real Madrid are interested in Goretzka
As reported by AS, Real Madrid are attentive of Goretzka’s situation since they are interested in signing him in the event that he does not extend his deal with Bayern Munich.
It is not hard to see why some of the biggest clubs in Europe would want to sign Goretzka. The German midfielder has been brilliant for Bayern Munich in recent years.
Great on both the offensive and defensive side of things, he has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the world, if he is not already. Also at 26 years of age, he is set to enter his prime as a footballer.
Thus, signing someone like Goretzka would be considered as a major coup for Manchester United. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Bayern Munich.
