Ruben Neves is a player who has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. He has been an important part of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ squad for years now but there have been some rumours suggesting that he could be on his way out of the club in the near future.

Having joined them back in the summer of 2017, Neves has made 176 appearances for Wolves till now, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists according to stats from Transfermarkt.

He has also proven himself in the Premier League during that period of time and has featured for the Portugal national team on a number of occasions as well.

Bruno Lage will be the Wolves’ manager from this season and Neves appears to be looking forward to working with him. While speaking with Wolves TV and as reported by the Mirror, the midfielder said:

"“I am really happy to work with him.“I spoke with a few friends when he signed for Wolves – that were players in Benfica and are good friends of mine – and they said a lot of good things about him.“I can see it now. He’s a very good coach with lots of good ideas. I think that when things are completely together, we’ll be a really hard team to beat.”"

Neves appeared to drop a future hint amid rumours linking him with Manchester United

Neves has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent times but it does appear that he has his eyes on the upcoming season with Wolves at the moment. His current deal with the club is believed to run till the summer of 2024.

Central midfield is a position that Manchester United are believed to be looking to strengthen in this summer with the future of Paul Pogba up in the air and Nemanja Matic now 33 years of age. And it was being rumoured that Neves was a player that they had on their radar.

While things can change very quickly in football, it looks like Neves’ future lies at Wolves. On the other hand, the Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Saul Niguez and Eduardo Camavinga in recent times as well. Now it remains to be seen if they do end up making a move for a central midfielder this summer.
