Manchester United have already made some big moves in the summer transfer window. And they are not expected to stop there, and are being linked with several other players.

One player that they have already reached an agreement to sign is Raphael Varane. The French World Cup winner is set to join the Red Devils in what should be considered as a major coup for the club.

Not too long ago, defence was considered as one of the weak points of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side but now, it might just turn out to be the best backline in the entire Premier League.

But even then, there have been some rumours suggesting that the Red Devils could make a move for another centre-back this summer in order to strengthen their defence further and Jerome Boateng is someone who has been linked with the club over the last few days. But Fabrizio Romano appeared to rule out the possibility of the move happening, as he tweeted out:

Manchester United are not considering making a move for Boateng

Boateng is a free agent at the moment with his decade long spell at Bayern Munich coming to an end last season. Still 32 years of age, Boateng was playing regular football for the Bundesliga giants even last season.

He also won everything that there is to win at club level with Bayern Munich and has also won a World Cup with the Germany national team. Thus, it is safe to say that he has world-class experience as well as quality and could bring a lot to the table for a number of clubs, both on and off the pitch.

A move to Old Trafford does not appear to be on the cards for Boateng though and it will be interesting to see who he signs for this summer. On the other hand, recent rumours have suggested that the Red Devils could be looking to sign a right-back and a central midfielder next after agreeing the move for Varane.
