Manchester United star set to be rewarded with new contract
Last season was a very promising one for Manchester United. The club showed some tremendous progress, finishing second in the Premier League and as runners up in the Europa League.
But at the end of the day, they could not win a trophy. It was the fourth straight season that the Red Devils finished trophyless. And that is a streak that they must bring to an end as soon as possible.
Of course, the club have already made some brilliant signings in this summer transfer window. They have signed Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton, and have agreed a deal with Real Madrid for Raphael Varane. But it will be equally as important to hold on to players who have been performing brilliantly in recent times. One such player is Luke Shaw.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Shaw is set to be rewarded with a Manchester United contract extension. The Red Devils are to open talks over a new contract. His current deal runs out in 2023, with an option for a further year, and the club are keen to reward his upturn in form.

Manchester United want to reward Shaw with a new contract for his brilliant form
It is safe to say that Shaw has been absolutely spectacular recently. He was one of the best left-backs in the Premier League last season and even had a big role in the England national team’s journey to the EURO 2020 final.
Thus, it will be very important for the Red Devils to keep Shaw at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future. After an up-and-down time at the club, he is finally starting to fulfil the world-class potential that he showed at Southampton.
At this point of time, the English international must be one of the first names on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team list. Let’s just hope that he continues to show this form in the 2021/22 campaign as well.
