Manchester United interested in winger with €60 million release clause
Manchester United have made a great start to the summer transfer window, already agreeing a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho and bringing back Tom Heaton to Old Trafford on a free transfer. And there is an expectation that more new signings may arrive in the upcoming weeks.
One of the challenges for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moving forward will be to find the right mix of youth and experience within the squad. From what we have seen over the past couple of years, the manager has shown faith in the young prospects at the club.
Consequently, Mason Greenwood has already become a regular in the first-team while many others have gotten their first taste of senior football as well. And it looks like the club have their eye on another very highly-rated youngster.
As reported by Record (via Sport Witness), Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in signing Sporting CP’s Joelson Fernandes. It is believed that the Red Devils are not put off by his €60 million release clause.

Manchester United have been linked with Joelson Fernandes
The Red Devils are one of the several top European sides believed to be interested in signing Joelson. The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Juventus and FC Barcelona have also been linked with the Portuguese youngster.
While Joelson is very highly-rated, he is yet to make his mark at the senior level. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made four appearances for Sporting CP till now. The 18-year-old has represented Portugal at multiple youth levels till now though.
There is no doubt regarding Joelson’s potential. But at this point of time, he needs some senior level experience. Even if the Red Devils were able to sign him, he would not be expected to come in and immediately become a part of the first-team picture at Old Trafford.
