Manchester United have alternative to £100 million transfer target
Manchester United have made a very bright start to their summer transfer window. The club have already agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho, a player they have been linked with for years, and signed Tom Heaton on a free transfer.
They are not expected to stop there though and are being heavily linked with a move for Raphael Varane as well. The Real Madrid superstar has only year left on his current deal and could possibly be on his way out of Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Another player that the Red Devils have appeared to have on their radar for a while is Declan Rice. The 22-year-old has been brilliant for West Ham United in recent years and had a tremendous EURO 2020 campaign with the England national team.
Thus, it is not hard to see why the club might be interested in signing him. But West Ham United are believed to rate him at around £100 million. And as reported by the Daily Star (via ESPN), Manchester United could look to sign Ruben Neves if they miss out on Rice.

Manchester United linked with move for Neves
While Rice and Neves are not exactly the same type of players, they do both occupy the same position on the pitch. And the Portuguese star could be a great fit in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield, if the club are able to sign him this summer.
The middle of the park is an area that the Red Devils could be looking to strengthen in over the summer. While Fred and Scott McTominay formed a partnership there last season, there is a feeling that it is an area where they can improve even further.
To be honest, the club have already had a great summer transfer window as it looks like they are determined to bring an end to their four season streak of not winning a trophy as soon as possible.
